Klaipėda County Men’s Support Centre

Klaipėda County Men’s Support Centre is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 2020 that provides emotional, psychological and social support to men. The centre aims to help men facing difficulties seek support, feel heard and work with specialists to find solutions suited to their circumstances.

The centre’s services are provided to men living in Klaipėda city and district.

The centre’s specialists support men and their loved ones through relationship difficulties, separation, bereavement, loneliness and other crises. Men can also seek help with difficulties related to addiction, experiences of violence or a wish to change their own violent behaviour.

Support rooted in empathy and connection

The centre’s work is guided by empathy, empowerment and connection. These values shape respectful communication, attention to each person’s circumstances and efforts to strengthen their ability to make independent decisions. The centre encourages men to see talking about difficulties and seeking support as part of caring for themselves and their loved ones.

Our work

Main areas of support

01

Psychosocial support

For men living in Klaipėda city and their families.

Psychological, social and legal consultations, information, mediation and advocacy. The scope and duration of support are tailored to the needs of the individual or family; consultations can take place at the centre or remotely.

02

Men’s peer support groups

Specialist-facilitated meetings where men share experiences, learn to understand their feelings and relationships, and support one another. The groups emphasise respect, trust and participants’ commitment to confidentiality.

03

Non-violent communication and relationship skills

Group meetings and individual consultations for people seeking to stop violent behaviour. The programme explores the causes and consequences of violence and develops skills in recognising emotions, managing anger, resolving conflict and communicating respectfully.

Emotional support for men

You do not have to face
hard times alone.

The centre runs the “Nelik vienas” emotional support line for men. Trained volunteers listen to men experiencing difficulties and provide emotional support. An anonymous, confidential conversation can be a first step towards seeking help.

The centre also works with Kaunas County Men’s Crisis Centre to develop comprehensive remote support for men.

The line is available to men across Lithuania.
